How the 8% Trailing Drawdown Works
A trailing drawdown follows your highest closed balance, not your equity. In River Valley Capital's own example on a $100,000 account, the floor starts at $92,000. If the closed balance reaches $102,000, the floor rises to $94,000. Once the closed balance reaches $108,000, the floor locks at the $100,000 starting balance and does not move again.
After that, however high the account goes, you only breach the maximum drawdown if equity falls to $100,000. The 5% daily loss limit still applies every day.
After a payout the floor also locks at the starting balance, unless you bought the Drawdown Lock Removal add-on. Use the prop firm drawdown calculator to see where your floor sits.
Instant Funding Payouts, KYC and Profit Split
Request your first withdrawal whenever you like, then once every 30 days. The minimum is $100 or 1% of the starting balance, whichever is higher. You can request a withdrawal of up to 100% of the profit in the account. You receive your profit split of whatever you withdraw, 80% as standard or 90% with the Profit Split Upgrade add-on, and River Valley Capital keeps the rest. Requesting the full profit is a hard breach: it is allowed, but not recommended unless you have the Remove Lock on Payout add-on.
KYC and the trader contract are only needed when you ask for your first withdrawal. If you do not pass KYC at that point, the withdrawal is rejected, the gains are forfeited and the account is closed, so check you can meet the KYC requirements before you buy.
When a payout is approved, River Valley Capital takes its share at the same time and the floor locks at your starting balance. You may request the full amount, but the prop firm payout calculator shows a recommended amount that keeps at least one full day's loss limit above the floor.
Is Instant Funding Right for You?
Why Traders Choose Instant Funding
There is no challenge to pass, so you can start trading a funded account and request a payout straight away. It suits traders who already have a tested strategy and want to skip the evaluation.
Trading Rules on Instant Funding Accounts
You can trade forex pairs and CFDs on indices, commodities, metals and cryptocurrencies streamed by the liquidity provider.
| Market | Maximum leverage |
|---|---|
| Forex | 50:1 |
| Gold (XAUUSD) | 10:1 |
| Silver and other metals | 5:1 |
| Indices | 10:1 |
| Oil | 1:1 |
| Cryptocurrencies | 2:1 |
News Events
Opening a position within 3 minutes before or after a news event is not allowed. A trade opened in that window can be closed with its profit or loss removed, the account's leverage can be reduced, or the account can be breached.
Prohibited Trading
Strategies that exploit pricing errors or latency, use insider information, front-run trades, use an off-the-shelf strategy sold to pass challenges, or switch to a different strategy once funded are not allowed. Neither is gambling, such as using maximum leverage to try to hit a target on one price move. Copy trading is allowed only between accounts you own.
Hard and Soft Breaches
Breaking the daily loss limit or the maximum drawdown is a hard breach: the account is closed, and any gains in a funded account are lost unless you bought the Payout Protector add-on. A soft breach closes only the trades that broke a rule, and you can keep trading.
Inactivity
An account with no trading activity for 30 days in a row is treated as inactive and breached.
Instant Funding Questions
Do I need to pass a challenge first?
No. Instant Funding starts you on a funded account with no evaluation and no profit target.
When do I need to complete KYC?
KYC and the trader contract are both required, but only when you request a withdrawal. If you fail KYC at that point, the withdrawal is rejected, the gains are forfeited and the account is closed.
Can I hold trades over the weekend?
Only with the Weekend Hold add-on, and only crypto can be traded at the weekend.
How many Instant Funding accounts can I have?
There is one combined limit across all your accounts, the Maximum Allocation Limit of $1 million, assessment and funded together, in any mix of plans including Instant, 1-Step and 2-Step. There is no separate Instant-only cap.
How is the daily loss limit worked out?
It is 5% of the previous day's closing balance or equity at the 5:00 PM New York reset, whichever is higher, the same basis as on the 1-Step and 2-Step challenges. If you end the day with open positions in profit, equity is higher than balance and sets the limit; with no open positions, or positions in a loss, the balance is used. So a $100,000 balance with no open profit gives a $95,000 breach level, while open profit that lifts equity to $102,000 raises the limit to 5% of $102,000.
Is the account fee refundable?
No. Account fees and add-ons are non-refundable.
